Established in 1999, the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) better known as CREDAI is the apex body for private real estate developers in India, representing over 9,000 developers through 20 States and 136 City level member associations across the country. CREDAI has worked hard to make the industry more organized and progressive by networking closely with government representatives, policy makers, investors, finance companies, consumers, real estate professionals.
Acting as the voice of India’s Real Estate Industry, CREDAI has been the guiding force for the growing Real Estate Sector in India bringing more transparency to rid the sector of its most potent virus, Corruption and Red – Tapism
The major objectives of CREDAI are as:
CREDAI is on board of prestigious Committees of the sector’s reforms like on the panel of ‘Housing and Habitat Policy 2007’, ‘Steering Committee for Urban Development’, the Committee of ‘Housing and Poverty Alleviation for the 11th five-year plan’, Committee of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Planning Commission and the Steering Committee on Construction for the 12th National Plan (2012-2017).
CREDAI Maharashtra is flagship organization of all the Associations of Builders and Developers of Maharashtra encompassing over 75% of the organized Real Estate sector in the State except Mumbai. Builders Associations from 39 cities of Maharashtra with a total strength of more than 2500 members builders are affected with it.
CREDAI has its roots in the ‘Federation of Promoters and Builders Association of Maharashtra’ which was framed in the year 1994. The promoters and Builders Association was instrumental in formation of the National Level Confederation of all the Associations of Real Estate Developers in India. This Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India, CREDAI as is now known was thus formed. The “Federation of Promoters & Builders Associations of Maharashtra” was then renamed as CREDAI Maharashtra.
CREDAI Maharashtra closely works with Government and Semi Government agencies and takes initiatives in policy formation. The recent example of this activity is the ‘Seminar on Affordable Housing Policy’ organized at Nagpur. Many brainstorming sessions were held in this seminar which will be instrumental in making of the New Hosing Policy of Govt. of Maharashtra.
CREDAI Maharashtra discharges various Corporate Social Responsibility directly and through its members. Recently many centres of CREDAI actively participated in the “Jal Yukta Shivar Yojna” promoted by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
The CREDAI Maharashtra has a steady man force and has established various Expert Committees which works for betterment of construction business. CREDAI Maharashtra regulates and modifies working of each of the Member Association & enforces ‘Code of Conduct’ and ‘Consumer Grievance Redressal’ through the Member Associations.
The CREDAI-Nagpur, earlier known as the Nag Vidarbha Builders Association, was formed in the Year 1998. Since formation, the Association is working for Promoting the Builder’s Activity in the region and is striving to solve the problems & remove hurdles in the path of working of the Builders.
The Association represents the Builders in the region at National Level through its affiliation to State Level Body CREDAI –Maharashtra & National level Body ‘CREDAI’, the Confederation of Real Estate Developers in India. The present name CREDAI-NAGPUR METRO was adopted in the year 2011 so as to rightly represent the area of working of the Association.
The Association keeps Co-ordination with the various Departments concerned with the Builders Activity such as Town Planning, TP & Valuation, NMC, NIT, Revenue, Nazul, City Survey, MSEDCL, MADC, VARIOUS TAXES DEPARTMENT, etc. and keeps track of the latest information about the new policies connected with the Business.
The Association foresees the difficulties that may arise in future and always tries to find the solution to the problems.
The ‘Association’ has laid down a ‘Code of Conduct’ for its members, which helps in self-governance & achieving Fair Business Practice, Smoother Customer’s Relationship and Protection from Undue Harassment from the Customer. Following of the Code of Conduct is also helpful in Creating Goodwill & Business Promotion. Every member has to abide by the ‘Code of Conduct’ laid down by the Association and has to sign a memorandum to this effect at the time of awarding the membership.
The Association has formed a “Consumer Grievances Redressal Cell” which will help in reducing the disputes and strengthening the Builder-Customer relationship. In a nutshell, it can be said that the Association is striving for the wellbeing of the Real Estate Industry.
The Association actively participates in Social Activities, naming a few, it donated 150 Dust Beans to Nagpur Municipal Corporation; it donated saplings worth Rs.1 Lakh to Nagpur Municipal Corporation for Tree Plantation; it organized a Health Camp for the needy, it organises blood donation camp regularly, it actively participates in various social activities of the Development Authorities in Nagpur, etc.
CREDAI’s vision of Homes for All is a goal which will hopefully be converted into a reality with the support of its Member Developers and a synergy of efforts towards this common goal. None of us can work independent of the other. Together we can explore and harness energies, strategies, expertise and resources to overcome all constraints to provide better homes to our Public and create a better future for them and our Country.
It has been our constant endeavor to expand our horizons and naturally thereby that of our Consumers. We stand by our commitment to promote cost effective and other affordable housing schemes. Pitching for Industry friendly policies and schemes have long been an integral part of CREDAI ’s functioning.
